A waypoint is the coordinate of an intermediate stop along the route. On a five-delivery run there are four waypoints between starting origin and final destination. Routing APIs accept up to 25 waypoints (Google Maps) and can optimize the order (the Travelling Salesman Problem). Receipts that support waypoints save 15%–25% of mileage versus an unordered route.
