A truck driver is the professional operator of cargo vehicles (trucks, tractor-trailers) handling interstate or local road freight. May be owner-operator, fleet driver, or company employee. Subject to specific hours-of-service rules (US DOT, Brazil Law 13.103/2015), rest periods, and tachograph requirements. Per-trip mileage receipts feed freight settlement.
