Reimbursement & Payment

Per diem

A daily flat amount paid to a traveling employee to cover meals, lodging, and incidentals.

Per diem (Latin for "per day") is the flat daily amount a company pays a traveling employee to cover meals, lodging, and incidentals away from the home office. It replaces line-item receipted reimbursement. The US benchmark is the GSA table; Brazilian practice follows the union convention (CCT); Mexico relies on internal policy.
