Brazil's federal tax ID for legal entities (Cadastro Nacional da Pessoa Jurídica).
CNPJ is Brazil's unique federal tax registration for legal entities. On mileage receipts it appears as the ID of the paying company or of the self-employed (MEI) billing the client. Including the CNPJ lets Receita Federal cross-reference the payment with both parties' bookkeeping.
